Have a blast
Even though pool toys are generally associated with kids, plenty of the toys are geared towards teens and adults too. Everyone in the family can splash, throw, squirt, dive and generally have a blast with pool toys.
Popular options
Pool toys are a great way to keep the family busy, while providing lots of fun and entertainment. Toys also tend to increase the physical activity in the pool. Here are some popular pool toy options to throw to your gang:
- Inflatable toys. Many pool toys are inflatable and can be filled with air in a matter of minutes. This is a great option especially if you're short on storage space because you can deflate them just as easily and store until next time.
- Tubes and Rings. Tubes and rings are perfect for relaxing in the pool. Grab one of these pool toys and float around without much effort.
- Floats and lounges. Adults can enjoy floating on larger floats and lounges and still keep an eye on the action.
- Water slides. Splashing down an inflatable water slide will add to the fun factor of your pool. Slides made of durable materials hold up well and can support up to 150 pounds.
- Hoops. Weighted hoops float under the surface of the water. Kids will have a blast diving down underneath the surface to retrieve these pool toys. You can even dive through some of the bigger hoops.
- Baby tug float. Don't forget the baby! Tug floats are a strong and sturdy place for your baby to join the fun. Look for baby floats that come with an umbrella to shield baby's sensitive skin from the sun.
- Volleyball. Turn your swimming pool into a volleyball court with this versatile pool toy. Set, spike and score over a 20 foot net you set up in your pool.
- Basketball. Choose between floating basketball hoops and stationary hoops you attach to the side of your pool. Either option provides plenty of entertainment.
- Torpedo. Throw this pool toy in the water and watch it slice through the depths. Kids will have fun throwing a torpedo back and forth or racing to dive for it.
- Water pistols and soakers. Get your teenagers involved with dueling water soakers in the pool.
When choosing pool toys, make sure they are not too small and don't have any sharp edges. Toys that are too small can easily slip out of sight and get stuck in your pool drains and can be choking hazards. Pool toys with sharp edges are can cause injury and put a damper on the fun!
